Using the Array Configuration Utility

The Type Keyword

Type is a required keyword, indicating the type of array to create.

There is no default value. Consult Table 13-5 for a listing of the

possible values for the keyword Type and the minimum number of

drives required for each type.

Examples:

Type=Volume

Type=RAID1

Note: For information about the maximum number of drives

allowed and minimum number of drives allowed, see RAID

Levels and Drives Information on page 13-4.

The End Keyword

End is a required keyword, indicating the end of an array definition

block.

Example:

End

The HotsparesDrives Keyword

HotspareDrives is an optional keyword, specifying the spare

drives to assign to the array. Spare drives are specified in the same

way as the Drives property. If HotspareDrives is not specified,

no spare drives are assigned to the array.
