Connecting Cables

1 Select the correct cable that matches the GBIC you installed.

2 Install the end connectors into the GBIC. The GBIC and Fibre

Channel cable are keyed, so they can only fit one way. See

Figure 4 on page 9.

Caution: For optical Fibre Channel cables, support the cable

so that you do not have a bend radius of less than three

inches.

Caution: For optical and copper Fibre Channel cables,

support and route the cable to prevent damage from sharp

edges or from being crushed by nearby equipment.
