Installing the Device Driver

Before you continue, ensure that you have:

❏ Reviewed About Wireless Technology and LANs on page 43 for a

basic overview of WLANs.

❏ Installed the Wireless PCI Adapter. See page 5.

The next step on the Installation Task List (page 4) is to install the

device driver. A device driver is a software program that lets your

adapter communicate with your computer.

To install the device driver, follow the instructions for your

operating system:

■ For Windows XP, see page 8.

■ For Windows 2000, see page 10.

■ For Windows Me, see page 13.

■ For Windows 98SE, see page 15.
